In times when it seems our entire world is falling apart, there is a great need for us to stop and take note of where we are. Things can happen around us and things can happen to us, but the most important things are those that happen within us — in our thoughts and perceptions.
It is true that each and every one of us, at one time or another, has faced problems of major complexities. Some have had to deal with matters of health or relationships, whereas others may have dealt with problems pertaining to money. Some of us have had to deal with all three. As long as we are on Earth, we'll have to deal with problems of one sort or another.

When Mike turned 65, he was 25 pounds overweight. By strict dieting, he shed the extra pounds, but he lost more weight; he also lost his energy and vitality. He was always exhausted, and his friends, seeing his gaunt, drawn face, worried about his health.
By the time volunteered for a particular fitness program two years later, he had put 25 extra pounds back on. After 6 months of exercise and some willpower at the dinner table, Mike slimmed down again. This time he felt better than he ever had, brimming with energy and glowing with good health.

With so many choices, it may seem very difficult to select a sleep apnea treatment that actually works. Any individual who has been diagnosed with sleep apnea is in need of a prompt remedy. If this condition is ignored, it may lead to heart disease, a stroke or other serious medical problem.

As a dietitian, the three most common questions which smokers ask me about diet and smoking, are: (1) Can a diet compensate for health damage caused by smoking? (2) What should I eat if I smoke? (3) If I quit, what type of diet is best to prevent weight gain?
(1) CAN A DIET COMPENSATE FOR SMOKING?
No diet or eating-plan, no matter how nutritious, can neutralise the health damage caused by the 850+ chemicals in tobacco smoke – many of which are carcinogenic. On average, if you smoke 20 cigarettes a day, you double your risk of a heart-attack and are five times more likely to suffer a stroke than a non-smoker. At 40 cigarettes a day, you are five times more likely to suffer from sudden cardiac death. Smoking is also the leading cause of lung cancer.

I found out today that Baba Wawa is having a celebration called "100 Women of the Century" and that one of the 100 women to be honored is Jane Fonda. Nowif this was a celebration of Hollywood, called "100 Actors of the Century," I would probably just go to my room and watch something else.
But it isn't. This is a sort of lifetime achievement award and, while Jane Fonda has undoubtably achieved some successes, like selling zillions of workout tapes, giving her an award for that would be fine and dandy with me.

Ok, so you like to down to your favourite coffee house and order coffees, cappuccinos, caf mochas, lattes and espressos. It isn't the fancy coffee cups that make this beverage taste so great.
It's the recipe of the coffee and of course the way it looks that factors into the equation. We all have a favourite style of coffee and every cup will taste different because of the roast of the coffee bean, the grind, the amount used, the water, the temperature and a variety of other factors.

Various massage therapy techniques can do wonders for your health and comfort. Well before there were massage therapists, physical therapist, and doctors massage was used to help the body find its natural healing center. As an ancient practice, the power of skillful touch could help the body recover from physical injury or illness as well as emotional trauma. The same holds true today.
Massaging the body helps to increase and promote circulation, which in turn helps carry more red oxygenated blood cells through the body. The increase in circulation can help reduce swelling and inflammation. Better blood flow also helps the white blood cells that are busy fighting infection to move through the body more effectively, ridding themselves of waste material faster and with more efficiency.

Overview:
Obesity is a physical state that refers to excessive body fat. Chances are you have experienced the frustrations of dieting at least once in your life, if you have problems with your weight. Close to a hundred million Americans go on a weight loss diet in any given year and up to ninety-five percent of them regain the weight they lose within five years. Worse, a third will gain back more weight than they lost, in danger of “yo-yoing” from one popular diet to another. The conventional approach to weight problems, focusing on fad weight loss diets or weight loss drugs, may leave you with just as much weight and the additional burden of ill health.

A phone call interrupted my reverie. It was Gideon asking if I'd had an interesting morning. I blurted out the incident of the birds and the books and the paper and the music and whatever else I could recall. I commented how curious it seemed that dreams of yesteryear could leap across the crevices of time onto the pages of today.
“When you think about it, John,” he said, “there really is no past nor future, no beginnings nor endings, just the ones that we create in our minds depending on our current perspective. A thousand lifetimes in a million years or a million lifetimes in a thousand years, what does it matter, anyway? We've always been alive.”
